Carrollwood families don't want a culture war. They want a working school day.

Hillsborough County schools lost $340M to the 2023 voucher expansion. Carrollwood absorbed the cut. Tallahassee owes it back.

Carrollwood is family Hillsborough. Five highly-rated elementary schools, two middle schools, and a parent body that has voted out school-board incumbents on twelve months' notice when their schools were threatened. The 2023 voucher expansion took $340M from Hillsborough public schools; Carrollwood lost a disproportionate share. The State Senate seat is the lever that restores it.

Where Maya fights for Carrollwood

Three fights. All local. All actionable in the next session.

01

Voucher accountability with funding follow-through.

Any voucher dollar leaving a public school district triggers an equivalent state hold-harmless payment to that district for three years. Lets families choose without bankrupting the schools that 87% of Hillsborough kids still attend.

02

Dale Mabry corridor improvement.

Dale Mabry is a state road. The corridor study has sat with FDOT since 2019. Move it from the planning shelf to a 2027 construction start. Carrollwood, North Tampa, and South Tampa share a single artery; treat it like one.

03

Stop the Tallahassee culture-war legislation that gets baked into Carrollwood lesson plans.

The state should regulate teacher certification and graduation standards. It should not be writing the curricula or banning the books. Roll back HB 1467 enforcement and restore local school-board discretion.

Local voices

Why Carrollwood residents are with this campaign.

Carrollwood is a school district where the parents show up. We have shown up at every board meeting since 2023. We need a State Senator who shows up the way we do.

Maya has been at every Carrollwood Civic Association meeting for six months. She knows what the Dale Mabry corridor study says. That is not normal for state-senate candidates.
