Show Up

The campaign is built one neighbor at a time.

Sign up, pick a shift, and we'll meet you on the porch. Every volunteer leaves with a printed turf map, a packet of fact sheets, and instructions written for human beings.

We ask for one shift, not your whole spring. We tell you exactly where the door is, exactly what to say, and exactly when to leave. If a neighbor wants to argue, you have permission to listen for two minutes and then move on. Nobody on this campaign asks you to be more than yourself.

Pick a shift below, or just write to volunteer@aldridgeforschools.org and we will fit you to the work.

Pick A Shift

Five jobs worth doing.

  • 01

    Door-knock District 4

    2 hours, Tuesdays or Saturdays

Walk a turf, talk to neighbors at their door, hand out the literature. We pair you with a partner; nobody walks alone. Snacks and water at the staging location.

  • 02

    Phone-bank from the porch

    90 minutes, Wednesdays 6-7:30 PM

Calls run from the church porch on warm nights, the church basement when it rains. Sweet tea, fried catfish on Wednesdays. Headsets provided. Spanish-language callers very welcome.

  • 03

    Host a coffee for Theodore

    One Saturday morning, your house

Six to twelve neighbors at your kitchen table. Theodore brings the bio packets and the coffee. You bring the friends. Two of these in District 4 already turned out 47 new voters.

  • 04

    Yard sign captain

    4 hours/week, your block

Own signs on a 10-block radius around your house. Replace what falls. Knock on the door when a new neighbor moves in. The most underrated volunteer job on the campaign.

  • 05

    Election Day greeter

    A shift on August 6

Stand at one of the four District 4 polling sites, greet voters, hand out the closer flyer. Two-, four-, or six-hour shifts. We bring lunch.
